NYPACE partners with JPMorgan Chase for Pilot Program
On September 11, 2018 NYPACE, working collaboratively with JPMorgan Chase, launched a pilot program that engaged over 30 volunteer advisors from JPMC’s Corporate Sector to help 11 small business owners from under-resourced, underrepresented communities of New York City.
The pilot will follow the time-tested program model developed by NYPACE: Volunteer teams of 2 to 4 advisors will work together focusing on the business issues of ONE entrepreneur over a 90 day period. The advisor teams will provide consulting in strategic areas relating to financial planning and modeling, market research, and business development.
The 11 businesses were selected with the help of 7 new channel partners:
Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation
Business Outreach Center Network
Center for Social Innovation
Evergreen North Brooklyn Business Exchange
Excelsior Growth Fund
Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation
Courtney Bryan, Executive Director and Head of Global Philanthropy for JPMC’s East Region, opened the program by describing the depth and scope of JPMC’s Small Business Forward program, which is committing over $150M to small business development in the US over the next 5 years. Jeanique Druses, VP of Global Philanthropy, then moderated a panel on increasing the access to capital for small businesses operation in New York City. The pilot is scheduled to conclude by mid-December 2018. For more information please contact Ken Inadomi at Ken.Inadomi@nypace.org
